Let’s have one more from
Canada for today’s Advent music. What we know as “The Huron Carol” was written
by Jean de Brébeuf, a Jesuit missionary to the Huron/Wendat people, in 1642.
Since its Wendat title translates as “Jesus, he is born”, it’s not, technically,
an Advent carol. But since I am, technically, in Québec, I’m slotting it in
here.
The version I’m giving
you is sung by Heather Dale, a Canadian Celtic musician, in Wendat, French and
English.
