The sidewalk artist is back at work. Here’s the landscape I encountered last week; lotta things going on there:
What interested me was the cat, tho—is that a bed of kittens next to it?

Before I had my Costco adventure with Das Auto a couple of weeks ago, here was the notable part of my excursion:
Christmas.
Yes, folks, they’ve got the outdoor and indoor Christmas displays out for purchase.

We’ve had a week of temperate weather here in the District They Call Columbia. Highs creeping up to the low-80s, and (with only a couple of exceptions) humidity that didn’t require donning SCUBA gear. I turned off the AC and had the patio door open all week (although I did use a fan).
You have no idea
how lovely and luxurious that is, if you’ve not endured a DC summer.
Moreover, the
mosquitos that take over my back yard every summer appear to have packed it in.
Good riddance to them.
It’s still
possible that we’ll get some sultry, ghastly days until the end of September,
but I am so grateful that we’ve broken the back of summer for the year.
